SmartEdit

If you are a novelist or poetry writer and want to use the computer for writing your stories, you will notice that Windows alone cannot help you, as Notepad or Wordpad, the two writing applications included in Windows, are very limited in features and may not please an experienced writer. A much better solution in this situation is to use the SmartEdit application, a Windows program which allows you to write any kind of text, no matter if we are talking about poetry, stories or novels, using a wide range of text tools.

After the application has been installed and launched, the user will notice that the interface resembles the one of Wordpad, but it's more complex and has more options. As such, one will be able to view the number of recurrences for each word and phrase included in the written text. For this to be possible, the user will only need to write the desired text and then click on the Scan button from the graphical toolbar of SmartEdit. The scan feature can work with any kind of text and it's extremely accurate.

What's more, SmartEdit can display the number of cliches included in a text, as it comes with a large cliches database. After the story has been written, the user can save it to a wide range of formats, like RTF or TXT. Unfortunately, there is no support for MS Word .DOC files.
